In June, the Comité des Fêtes of Bédouès-Cocurès organizes its annual car boot sale. At €2 per linear meter, this accessible and friendly event brings together the residents of this Cévenol commune and the early holidaymakers of the season for an outdoor treasure hunt.
Clothes, toys, books, dishes, and various objects are offered by private exhibitors. The relaxed and warm atmosphere of a village car boot sale in the Cévennes National Park gives this event an authentic and preserved character that is rarely found in urban areas.
Bédouès-Cocurès (48400) is a commune in Lozère formed by the merger of Bédouès and Cocurès, two villages in the Tarn valley, upstream from Florac-Trois-Rivières. These two villages, separated by only a few kilometers on the banks of the Tarn, share an exceptional geographical location in the Cévennes National Park.
Surrounded by chestnut trees, broom, and the black schist of the Cévennes, with the Tarn flowing at their feet and the peaks of Mont Lozère on the horizon, Bédouès and Cocurès are two postcard-perfect villages where nature plays a predominant role.
